Cornucopia of Colors

Share
I know it's not the 1st yet, but I just couldn't wait... I LOVE the Fall! I love the crisp autumn air, the crunch of the leaves under my feet, breaking out the hot cocoa for the first time, and the temperature I affectionately call "sweater weather". But the best part of this time of year is when the stores start breaking out their "seasonal" decorations.. I'm not talking Christmas, here, I'm talking pumpkin scented candles, and woody place mats with leaf-shaped napkin rings... [I'm a closet household goods fanatic.]

Although all of these wonderful things aren't quite here in real life, I can sort of live them vicariously through this new great kit. It's part of the ADSDesigners' September Collab, and it's really fun! I tried to incorporate all the wonderful things I love about this season - the warmth and rich textures specifically - into the kit. It's not quite as large as Alphabet Soup, but I think I've learned a lot since then, and it's definitely my best so far. I've also started using a lot of CU items - why try to re-invent the wheel when someone greater than me already did - which I think has lent to greater variety in my designs. So if you would be so kind, please click on the ads throughout my blog and help keep that variety coming! ;)

Anyway, that was a LOT of chatting - especially for me - so on to the goods! I've linked everything individually, so you can pick and choose if you want, but the full kit is linked as well. *password is corn* FYI: The full kit download is only available as a RAR, and it's 99 MB (compressed), so you might want to break it down anyway. Don't worry if you can't grab everything at once; I'll keep this kit as a freebie for the whole month of September.

And now that you've snagged what you wanted from me, don't forget to check out all of the other great participants! Although we all used the same color swatch and general theme, we each came up with something a little different, so you won't want to miss out on any one of them. And remember, these ladies worked hard and would really appreciate a little appreciation. ;)

A Special Treat

Share
For those of you who diligently check my blog - even when there aren't freebies - all 2 of you ;) - here's little treat. Check my store, and you can see the entire kit that I'll be releasing on Monday. [I know, you're probably thinking I'm really full of myself for thinking you would consider that a treat, but it's late, and I'm excited...]

Sneak Peak

Share
I don't know if this is against the rules or not, but it's been a while since I've posted, and I thought I'd let you all know what I've been working on... This is a preview of my next kit. It's part of the ADSDesigners Collab - the same people who brought you Backyard Playground and Zoo Spirit. We will release all of our kits at once - SEPTEMBER 1ST - so be sure to check back then. There are a lot of fun things going on, and I'll have all the links to the other kits as well, so don't forget! See you then! :)

Cottage by the Sea TOU

Share
I am a bad, bad person, and forgot to include the correct TOU with my freebies. I need to give credit to Anna at DeliciousScraps.com for the flourishes used on the oval frames and patterned papers. She also gets credit for the cloudy overlay. Please download the updated TOU here.

Cottage by the Sea

Yay! I'm a day early! And I would have been earlier in the evening, but it took almost 2 hours to get everything uploaded to 4Shared... Anyway, here it is. As I mentioned before, this was part of the DSO August Color Challenge. It's a bit different than the rest of my kits - smaller in some ways, larger in others - but the point is I wanted to try all new things, and I think I did. Let me know what you think! I've just provided a link to the full kit, but I have larger previews of each component so you can see what you're getting yourself into. Also, because I'm releasing it all at once as part of a challenge, it will keep its freebie status through the end of the month.

*Update: I've added the links to each part so it's not so huge to download.

Pink Lemonade Quick Page

Share
Here is a super-cute quick page that Lori made from the Pink Lemonade kit. Click HERE to be taken to her blog where you can download it. Thanks, Lori!

Also, I'm hoping to get a new kit up later this week! (Yes, we've cleared some space off the hard drives.) Yay! It will be inspired by the August Color Challenge at DSO. You can check out some of the other great kits from this challenge here. (You'll need to sift through the "threads" to find the links... a lot of them have been showing up on Digifree, though.)

I've Been Tagged...

Share
Well... since we're in a bit of a freebie hiatus, I thought I'd answer to the tags from JessA and Amanda and let you get to know me a little better...

7 Facts about me:
  1. I've been married for 4 years to a wonderful man who makes me laugh every day.
  2. My husband and I didn't go on a date until after we had been engaged for 2 weeks.
  3. I have a sweet 6-month-old little boy.
  4. My 2 kitties are my babies.
  5. I graduated with my BFA in Theatre Stage Management 3 years ago.
  6. I don't believe in wearing shoes.
  7. Running is something that should only be done if someone is chasing you in a life-threatening manner.
Now I'm supposed to tag 7 other people.... I don't exactly visit a lot of scrapper blogs... I guess I'll just go through my comments and see who has blogs... hold please....
  1. Jonni
  2. Smalls
  3. Inge
  4. Jen Graham
  5. Danielle
  6. Caryn
Well... there were only six of you, so good luck!

Anyway - I do have some layouts to share with you. And I have to admit, I totally cheat and use templates because I just haven't been able to make my brain work creatively in that way. This template came from Celine, who does great work. I wanted something to show off Sugar & Spice... I think this did the trick.

And here's a page using JessA's template and PDT.

Anyway, I can't wait to see what you all have come up with using my kits, so please send me links and I'll post, post, away!

S&S Ribbons

Share
Well... the time has come at last... the end of the Puppy Dog Tails and Sugar & Spice Kits... for now... [If you missed any of the pieces, you can pick them up at my store.] Here are the ribbons for S&S. I hope you enjoy them! (And thank you everyone for your wonderful comments - I really didn't mean to guilt anybody into it, I was just a little sad about the small numbers... So thanks - it made my day!)

Also on a bit of a sad note, my sound engineer husband, and me with my "new hobby" have managed to use up all 750GB of storage space on our computer... that means no more kits for a while... but maybe now I'll get some of my own scrapbooking done. It might be nice to take a little break - after all, I've done 4 kits in 4 weeks! Whew! I wouldn't want to wear myself out, or bleed the creative juices dry! ;) Anyway, I'll try and maybe get some quickpages up using the things I've already built, and if any of you have anything you want to share, I'd love to see... as I'm sure others would too!

There have been a few of you wondering how to thread ribbons through buckles, etc. May I direct your attention to these wonderful tutorials: Misty does an EXCELLENT job at guiding newbies through the basics - as well as the more complicated stuff. Vicki also has a wonderful tut on threading ribbons. Good luck, and I can't wait to see your results!

Now on to the freebie:

PDT Alpha 2

Share
Even though my previous kits all contained 2 alphas, the 2 sets were always very similar.... usually the same shape and size, just a different color or pattern. This time I wanted to mix things up a bit, so here is the second alpha for Puppy Dog Tails, and you can bet it's pretty different than the first one. I think it captures the rambunctious spirit of little boys a bit better.

S&S Ribbon Straps

Share
Nope.... still haven't come up with a different name, but they're here nonetheless.... However, I have come up with a new poll. My download rates have really gone down since Alphabet Soup, so I thought maybe I just wasn't making kits that people were interested in. So.... What are you all just dying to have? Take a second to answer on the right, and I'll see what I can do! ;)

I know, it's a silly name, but I couldn't think of anything better to call them... oh well, they're still cute... A rose by any other name would smell as sweet, right?

Here are the Sugar & Spice elements... If you want a sneak peak at what may be coming next, head on over to my store. Full kits for both PDT and S&S are listed, complete with previews... (and if you're just too impatient to wait for the freebie, you can snag it early!)

Alphas!

Share
Here are some matching alphas to go with Puppy Dog Tails and Sugar & Spice. Enjoy!

P.S. For my future knowledge, which do you prefer:
  1. a single file that contains all the letters which you then have to split apart to use
  2. a separate file for each individual character (like what I currently do)

Sugar & Spice

Share
Yeah - I know there are probably 5,000 kits out there with these two names (PDT and S&S) but you can never have too many, right?

Anyway, I've decided to release these two kits simultaneously so as not to leave anyone out. Have fun with these sweet and chic papers, and [as always] let me know what you think! :)

End of Grand Opening Sale

Share
For those of you still wanting to complete your Alphabet Soup or Pink Lemonade kits, everything is still on sale at my store... but only through Sunday, August 3rd. Act now, while prices are still ridiculously low!

Puppy Dog Tails

Share
Well - my last two kits have been very bright and bold, so I thought I'd step away from that for my next one... Puppy Dog Tails is a soft and gentle kit intended to show off your beautiful little miracle (what can I say, I'm a bit biased because of my sweet boy). Don't worry, though - there's a female version of the kit on its way shortly... Enjoy, and let me know what you think!

PL Frames

Share
Here is the last of the Pink Lemonade kit.... I have quite a few more items in progress, but I can't really get them to look just right, so I'm moving on... for now.. Expect at least one add-on pack for this kit in the future...

Anyway, some frames. I, personally, have never used frames in any of my layouts, so I'm not sure if they look and work the way they should, so please give me some feedback and let me know if I need to change anything.
