A Special Surprise!

Share
I'm so excited to announce that I was approached last week by Maya at Scrapbookgraphics, asking if I'd like to join their team for a while as a guest.  Of course I wasn't planning on doing one guest spot right after the other, but I just couldn't turn her down!  What an honor to be able to rub shoulders with so many incredibly talented ladies!  SO, for the month of October, you will also be able find my goodies - some new and some old in my Studio at Scrapbookgraphics!  Yay!  :D

Here's a peek at the new items I'm offering..

A sequel to Paper Punches vol. 1, these handy little templates are a fabulous jump start to a visually catching page.  Contains (4) 12x12 background templates with various pieces punched out.  Just layer on top of one paper and clip another paper to it for an instant window-pane effect.  Also included are the layered files of the "scraps" that you can use on their own or in combination with other templates.  The possibilities are endless!

Also available as a duo pack with Paper Punches vol. 1

The next in my "Hold It" series, these fun little attachments will keep your photos the focus of your pages.. Included are 5 unique metal frames with separate clipping masks for ease of use.  Frames are shown at actual size.

I'm also offering the frames in a money-saving bundle with P's&Q's and 1's&2's.
Each item is also available separately.

Do you have a favorite sweater that's pilling just a little too much for public appearances?  How about that comfy pair of  jeans with one too many holes?  And of course - the book you've read countless times with the faded cover and loose pages... That is exactly what this alpha will be for you - only you don't have to use it over and over again to get that worn look! Comes with multi-colored upper case, numbers and a few symbols - in both filled and outlined styles.  Vowels are provided in all 5 colors for additional flexibility.

And finally, I'm also moving my Beautiful on the Inside collection over to SBG as well..

I'll leave you with a few CT pages of the new items, and a note that my entire studio is 20% off - except bundles, which are already discounted 25% or more - now thru Saturday.  Also, congratulations to supin72 who won the random drawing for a $10 GC to my SBG studio.  I will be emailing you the code shortly!  {Wondering how you missed out on this?  Become fan on Facebook to keep up with all my RAKs contests, and more!}

I'll see you again tomorrow with my latest ScrapMatters releases... But if you want a chance to win, jump down a few posts to find out what you need to do!  Until then, happy scrapping!  :)

Spotlighting Liz

Share
How is everyone this Tuesday morning?  Mine is starting out nicely!  To help you kick off your day today I get to introduce you to another one of our guest CTM.  Liz is such a talented lady, and I'm sure you will be inspired by her creations!

Liz

I am a mother to 2 girls (Molly 19 months, and Carrie 3).  Been married to my awesome husband, Jon for 4 years in April.  I work as an attorney in sunny Arizona.  Born in Houston, Texas, raised in Arizona, went to law school in Boston.  I'm a self-proclaimed band geek and Trekkie.  And I have a 10 month old Westie puppy named Spock.

  1. How long have you been scrapping?  Have you ever paper scrapped?  When did you make the switch to digi and why?  I casually paper scrapped back in college but was never really into it. I love digital because there is no mess!  I started getting serious about digital scrapping during Queen of Scrap in 2009.
  2. What do you feel is your strongest scrapping skill?  use of patterns.  I love patterned paper. Your weakest? Knowing when to stop!  I want to often put every element on a page!
  3. What advice would you give someone just starting out digi-scrapping?  Never straight copy someones layout.  Take inspiration from others and make it your own.
  4. Describe your scrapping "system"... What program do you use?  Where do you start first - photos, papers, elements, journaling?  Do you always have something in mind when you start, or do you let your creativity guide you?  How long does it take you to complete a layout?  I use a Frankenstein PC with Photoshop CS4 and my ever present Picasa open. I also use a Bamboo Touch tablet.  I usually start with photos and then find my background papers, place them and then create shapes for my pictures.  Journaling is always last and it depends on the layout if I do elements of title next.   Sometimes I have a really specific idea, other times I just let the product speak to me.  On average I can usually get a layout done in about 60-80 minutes if I'm not interrupted too much.
  5. On average, how much time do you spend scrapping each week? I honestly have no idea, a couple hours at night, probably about 4 a piece on the weekends.  Nowadays I can sneak it in during my workday.
  6. Describe your perfect scrapping environment - coffee? soda?  music?  snacks? Usually a soda or glass of water.  TV for background noise.  About 4 tabs open in my web browser.  DH next to me on his PC playing whatever game he is into that month.  Children asleep.
  7. What's your favorite thing to do BESIDES scrapping?  Watching reality TV especially Top Chef and anything on Food Network
  8. What is one thing you would love to do, just so you could scrap it?  Going on a Disney cruise or get a drastic hair cut.
  9. Who inspires you in the scrapping community?  Any person or site in particular that you look to for inspiration?  Um everyone!  Seriously!  I believe in finding inspiration everywhere.  If I had to name a few I would say:  kjersti, Cyndi142, Linz, Quiltymom and kmkarayannis
  10. If you could have Amber create a kit just for you, what colors, theme, etc would it be and why? That is easy.  It would be a marching band kit in maroon gold, football grass green, gray, brown, black, and white. Why?  Because I am a band geek and maroon and gold are my alma mater's colors (GO DEVILS!)
Liz has this spectacular gallery just bursting with inspirational layouts.  Here title work is always to die for.  Be sure and take a peek at them in her layouts below.

I have 2 sneak peeks & 2 chances to win!

Share
Yeah! You totally read that right! I have 2 chances to win and 2 absolutely fantastic sneak peeks! As I promised last week, this post is ALL about Amber (lol), who has seriously been rocking her designing shoes and created 2 absolutely gorgeous kits for this week! Both are collaborations, one for her store at After 5 Designs and the other is a Scrap Matters Twice as Nice collab.

So without further ado, here's a little look-y at these stunners!

Amber's Creative Team has been totally rocking these beauties and I can't wait for you to see these full releases this week!

Okay, as promised, I said there's 2 chances to win this week! To win Amber's new release for A5D, leave me a comment here on the blog answering this week's random question - which is..

"If you could have any job in the world.. what would it be?"

Here's the team's answers

Amber: Actor ... or wedding planner..
Kate: Surgeon
Tiff: Event Planner
Cheryl: Finally! I'm doing it! Stay at Home Mom and I love it!
Kim: Stay at home Mom & professional scrapper! But really, high school history teacher, which I do!!
Andrea: Chief chocolate taster for Cadbury's!
LeeAndra: I'd love to be an international photojournalist who spent most of her time photographing children in orphanages and then creating multimedia presentations that were then shown to open-minded future parents. Being a singer songwriter would rock my face off, too. Or Justin Timberlake's GF :)

Too fun right? So what's your dream job? Leave me a comment here on the blog with your answer to be entered to win the new release at A5D this week.

Now to the second chance to win. This time just head on over to this post at Scrap Matters and leave me a comment to be entered to win the new release at Scrap Matters - it's THAT easy!

Amber will be back on Thursday & Friday with the full previews of these stunning kits, as well as the winners from the giveaways.

I can't wait to see what your dream jobs are, anyone else want to be Justin Timberlake's Girlfriend like LeeAndra? Craziness!! lol

*hugs*

Spotlighting Kim R

Share
We have some awesome guests this month here at Stolen Moments.  Lets get to know one of them shall we?

Kim R

I am 31 and I have been married to my best friend for 9 years. I get to stay home with my two sweet little girls, 4 ½, and 15 months. We live in Utah close to most of our families. My hobbies are scrapbooking (is there really anything else?) and photography (with my new DSLR). I also love music, blogging, baking, and going on vacations!

  1. How long have you been scrapping?  FOREVER! My grandma would give me these books with cardstock pages for me to fill with memories when I was in middle school and high school. I kept odd things like movie stubs, playbills from shows and show choir competitions, the wrapper to my first Cookies and Cream Hershey’s bar when they first came out (I know LAME). Have you ever paper scrapped?  Absolutely! I have an album of our dating years and before kiddos. When did you make the switch to digi and why? I switched to digi Oct 2009. My friend kept blogging her wonderful creations and so one day I had her show me on her laptop. I ordered some “show me how” magazines, downloaded Photoshop and the rest is history!
  2. What do you feel is your strongest scrapping skill? Good question. Well, I know what I like and I stick to that. I like making the page feel real, I love using a lot of elements, and I LOVE white space!  Your weakest? I’d say I have a few. My major weakness is the composition. I struggle so much unless I am using a template or playing with the Grand Theft Layout.
  3. What advice would you give someone just starting out digi-scrapping? Have fun with it! There’s so much to learn, don’t feel overwhelmed. There are great tutorials all over the place. Also, ask around, there are forums and people are so willing to share their knowledge!
  4. Describe your scrapping "system"... What program do you use? CS5 Where do you start first - photos, papers, elements, journaling?  I usually start with the photos. Then I search for the perfect kit to go with it (them). As I am working I usually try to come up with a title…I feel like I’m actually getting better in this department too! Do you always have something in mind when you start, or do you let your creativity guide you?  Yes, I usually have an idea and go from there. But not always!. How long does it take you to complete a layout? Depends. Usually an hour or two. But sometimes it can be a little longer if I am trying to learn a new technique or if I can’t decide which embellishment to use.
  5. On average, how much time do you spend scrapping each week? Around ten or so. I play while my oldest is at school and my baby is napping.
  6. Describe your perfect scrapping environment - coffee? soda?  music?  snacks? I don’t keep food or drinks near the computers. I don’t want to spill on it or get things sticky and dirty. Sometimes I listen to music or have the TV on in the background but I’m usually more focused on the computer rather than what’s going on around me.
  7. What's your favorite thing to do BESIDES scrapping? I recently got a digital SLR camera so I am learning how to use it. I am currently taking an online photography class so it is also keeping me busy.
  8. What is one thing you would love to do, just so you could scrap it? WOW!! Options! I would really love to go to Hawaii and Europe. It would be fun to go to Disneyland too (confession: I’ve never been there-but I did go to Disney World in High School for a show choir competition…we won).
  9. Who inspires you in the scrapping community? Any person or site in particular that you look to for inspiration? I love Scrap Matters. They have the greatest challenges. I can always look there for inspiration. Or I’ll make my way into the gallery for a peek. I do have a few favorites and sometimes I look at more. I love to look at Tiff, the one that got me started in the first place, as well as hoo-rah, lacidock, and keyr.
  10. If you could have Amber create a kit just for you, what colors, theme, etc would it be and why? Hmm, good question. Well, I have two girls so I wouldn’t want an all boy kit. Maybe something to do with dance, or dress ups? My oldest loves to bake and help out so maybe something along those lines. OH!, with Halloween coming up, a great Halloween kit, but nothing gory, I have little ones that dress up as lady bugs, fairy’s, and chickens. This year they are going to be Dorothy and Glenda from the Wizard of Oz!

I love Kim's style of layouts; her paper-esque layouts are my favorite! Take a gander at some of her lovely layouts!

First Layout
This is the first digi layout that I ever did! It was fun working in Photoshop trying different techniques. The selective coloring was EASY! And what a fun way to show off my little newborn!

Favorite Layouts
These pictures were taken when my baby turned one! This was the first LO I ever did playing "Grand Theft Layout!" It shows off really well what I like on LO's. My favorite technique is to have a ribbon or something else intertwined with other objects. I also love a lot of embellishments and white space (and of course I love that it shows off my beautiful little girls)!!

I just love this page! Not just because it reminds me of the wonderful get away to the Bahamas we did for our anniversary this year. I enjoyed taking several different kits and putting them together to my liking!

My oldest is four and our personalities clash a lot. One week was particularly bad so I thought I would scrap a page showing how much I love her even though we have hard times. I just love how it turned out!

Layout Using Stolen Moments Products
My baby decided to stand up on her own for the very first time the day she turned 13 months! I was so thankful that my hubby and I both saw her hit this milestone. One thing I really love about this LO, is how perfectly the kit matches the photos..and I didn't have to re-color anything!

Amazing stuff huh?!  Thanks so much for sharing with us Kim!  Check out more of Kim's layouts at her GALLERY!
